This Hollywood Reporter Article lists some of the pilot projects and series pickups that have been namde so far this season for the networks.

NBC has 4 series pickups already and 8 pilot orders. That is a long list from a network saying that they are leading the way in 'cutting back' on this stuff.

CW has not ordered a single pilot as of yet...so fans of the current shows can rejoice.

CBS has 2 drama and 2 comedy pilots on order so far.

FOX has 4 pilots in various stages of completion as well as a table read order for an animated series.

ABC has 4 pilots (2 drama, 2 comedy) in various stages of completion as well.

This is from the network that said in late fall 2006 that they were taking scripted out of the 8pm hour entirely. They seem more interested in impressing people by claiming cuts than in actually making them.

They don't really know what they're doing. Up is down. Left is right. Mean is nice. It doesn't matter how many they pick up, most of them will probably fail due to a poor timeslot or NBC finding some other way to screw up the show.

NBC already picked up Kath and Kim. If they pick up Blue Blood and Play or Be Played they will be set in the fall. If it is even remotely good in quality, all three are fail proof hits.

By 'fail proof hits', you mean like K-Ville, right?

Or Bionic Woman? Or Journeyman? Or Life? Or their new comedy from this past year? Oh wait, they didn't even launch one. Wink

The script reviews for Blue Blood and Played or Be Played are excellent and it has a market. It's not a Aliens in America or Bionic Woman or Reaper that was never going to work by being unmarketable and not having a long term audience.

That means nothing. Anything can fail at any given time. Scripts mean nothing imo. You have to see the finished product and until I do I won't make any claims like its a slam dunk. Aliens in America and Reaper are both great shows. Both are marketable. Both are on a network that simply can't market to save its soul.

I agree to an extent. That is why I said the quality has to be remotely good for Blue Blood and Played or Be Played. We will have to see when they are added to NBC's schedule. Kath and Kim was a no brainer. These two shows seem like ones too.
