Emmy Category 66 OUTSTANDING HOST FOR A REALITY OR REALITY-COMPETITION PROGRAM
So, who wins? My vote would be for Jeff Probst. If I had to bet money, though, I'd go with Phil Keoghan since the Emmy voters have shown an afinity for that show (since the cast seems less like they are trying to be actors) in the past.
Does Ty Pennington count as a reality show host? If so, I think he has a very good chance. For some reason, I also think Ryan Seacrest has a chance. The guy is very well connected in the industry and I'm sure will do anything to get an Emmy.
The Amazing Race is my favorite reality(-competition) show, but Phil hardly does anything great to even qualify for a nomination in my opinion. On the other hand, I think Jeff Probst, Ryan Seacrest, Ty Pennington, Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum will be among the contenders to be nominated.
Our local paper weighed in on this... the people they thought were "in" were Jeff Probst, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks and Ryan Seacrest. Among the people they thought were "out" were Jeff Foxworthy, Joey Fatone, Ty Pennington and Padma from Top Chef..
I agree about Phil (who wasn't mentioned) although The Amazing Race is my favorite show, Phil isn't that dynamic - enough to add another dimension to the show. I personally feel Jeff Probst is number one by a mile. I think Drew Carey would deserve a nomination (assuming they are including Game Shows in the mix as the paper seemed to alude to).
Other suggested nominees not mentioned would be BB's Julie Chen (she's so bad, she makes the show); Hell's Kichen's Gordon Ramsay and Bob Saget from 1 vs. 100.

I wish the fans could get an input. Julie would get in for sure. I mean how many hosts have you seen before that have screwed up the competitions to where it actually affects the game?
