"Sacrifice" has a screenplay written by Mick Garris ("Riding the Bullet," "Amazing Stories") from a story by Del Howison ("Dark Delicacies"). Breck Eisner ("Creature from the Black Lagoon") directs. When four criminals find themselves stranded in an old, snow-covered fort, they slowly discover both the fort and the seductive trio of sirens who reside there are filled with deadly secrets. Jeffrey Pierce ("The Nine"), Jesse Plemons (NBC's "Friday Night Lights"), Stephen Martines ("Port Charles"), Rachel Miner ("Californication") and Mircea Monroe ("Drive") star.

The fact that they are airing the fourth episode first, does not fill me with confidence. Still, I tend to like these anthology series even if the quality tends to be uneven.

The similar Masters of SciFi from last summer was basically canceled (cut to a meager 4 episodes) before it even aired.

Is it just me, or did the title make anyone else think that the show was going to be one of those terrible reality programs like Scare Tactics?

I also wonder why they started with episode 4. Hopefully it's because this episode was the best or the one they think will gain the most attention. However, from the leaked synopsis, this doesn't sound like the most engaging plotline. The four criminals sounds intersting in a Prison Break sort of way but adding in the three sirens just brings it down a notch and makes it into a predictable burlesque house piece.

I definitely plan on checking Fear Itself out, but I doubt others will.

I'll be there, gotta support the only thing that's not reality junk this summer. I hope it's interesting and scary. Hopefully, it does well for NBC's standards...which aren't that high, right?

I can understand Marc's point. These types of series are for fringe audiences, not really broadcast network material. Again, I'm hopeful. It just better be well written and not too watered down.

According to the NBC website, this episode is now being listed at 101. It might have been a typo originally, or they may just have changed things around.

I missed the first 10 minutes of the show, but I enjoyed most of what I saw. I prefer a little more spook and a little less gore myself, (not a fan of the torture porn genre), but it got better as it went along and turned into more traditional horror fare. The production values seemed good for tv.

I fear that it won't do all that well in the ratings. Between basketball and Swingtown it will almost certainly be third. Sports can't really be avoided, but why put it up against Swingtown? Seems like terrible scheduling from NBC.
